Michael began boxing at 12 years of age and the sport captured his interest quite quickly. Within a few months, Michael was training 3 days a week after school and balancing it with his other interest, Aussie Rules. His trainer saw his natural potential and asked him to train 5 days a week in preparation for an amateur bout.

Michael has always been a hard working, independent person. He had a part-time job at 14 years old to help support his boxing dream. He worked to pay for his training gear, gloves and boots. He was hooked the first time he danced under those lights. His hand was raised and the rest (as they say), is history. Michael had 15 amateur fights in total, culminating in being crowned the 2010 Australian Golden Gloves Champion. His focus then turned to the professional sport. At age 18, he had his pro debut and one minute twenty seven seconds into the fight (a K.O. victory), he realised he was right at home.

Michael’s professional record stands at 30 fights, 27 Wins, 3 Losses and 16 Knockouts. Michael is currently ranked No.1 in Australia (Pound for Pound), No.3 in the WBA Middleweight and currently No.6 Worldwide.

Michael travels worldwide in preparation for his fights and has been up against some of the worlds best fighters.  At his most recent win, Michael derailed former WBO World Champion Jeff Horn in a one sided bout.

Outside of boxing, Michael enjoys spending time giving back to the community and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
