Born and raised in Melbourne by his Maltese migrant parents, Zerafa comes from a humble blue-collar family that holds close to the tradition, hardworking and honest ethics and above all, respect for other beings.

From a young age, Michael knew he wanted to become Australia's greatest boxer and what it was going to take to get there. At twelve years of age he was juggling double sessions a day while remaining committed to his studies and three years later, at just 15, he participated in his first amateur contest he had 15 amateur fights in total, culminating in being crowned the 2010 Australian Golden Gloves Champion. His focus then turned to the professional sport. 

 

 At 18 he had his first professional fight and it took just eighty-seven seconds to chalk up his first win. A moment that started the legacy of what has become one of the greatest success stories in Australia's rich boxing history.


Michael’s professional record stands at 34 fights, 30 Wins, 4 Losses and 19 Knockouts. Michael is currently ranked No.1 in Australia, No. 2 in the IBF,  No.5 in the WBA Middleweight and currently No.6 Worldwide.
